Colombia Attracting More Upscale Travelers According to Luxury Latin America

Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 16, 2009 -- LuxuryLatinAmerica.com, the leading website focused on upscale travel in the Americas, has added reviews of the best hotels in Colombia (http://www.luxurylatinamerica.com/lux_colombia.html) to meet increasing reader demand. Luxury tour features will follow in the coming months.

"Old perceptions die hard, but Colombia tourism has been rising at a double-digit percentage pace for several years now as the safety situation and infrastructure have both improved," says Timothy Scott, editor of the publication. "Reader e-mails and site searches have both made it clear that interest in Colombia travel is rising rapidly as intrepid travelers try to stay ahead of the mass tourism crowds."

Adventurous luxury travelers are starting to dip their toe in Colombia's Caribbean waters around Cartagena and Santa Marta, in the capital city of Bogata, in the Andean Mountains coffee country, and on nature tours of the Amazon Jungle basin. A few major tour operators are now offering high-end programs, both as small group tours and custom adventures.

Luxury Latin America (http://www.luxurylatinamerica.com) is launching its Colombia travel section with detailed reviews of six top hotels in the country's capital and on the Caribbean coast. Initial listings include Koralia ecolodge near Santa Marta, artistic boutique hotel La Pasion in Cartagena, and historic landmark Hotel La Opera in Bogata.

The site's professionally written hotel reviews cover the best of the best in each country, with hotels and resorts chosen based on merit, not on any booking partnership. Luxury tour stories (http://www.luxurylatinamerica.com/tours.html) are first-hand accounts of journeys that go above and beyond the standard vacation tour routes and have an element of exclusivity.
